top 10 universities in Pakistan

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan got independence on the 14th of August 1947 from the British Empire. Considering their weak grip on British India, the British Empire had to divide it between the Muslim and Hindu majorities. India was the Hindu majority state, East Pakistan and West Pakistan was the Muslim majority state. East Pakistan later separated to form Bangladesh in 1971.

Currently, Pakistan is the 6th most populated country in the world. With a 216.6 million(2019) population, 64% aged under 30, Pakistan has one of the worlds largest youth populations. If Pakistan manages to enrich its youth with quality education, it can channel a great profit. This educated and professional youth can help the country counter problems like inflation, economic growth, corruption and modernization.

Quaid-e-Azam’s View On Education

Quaid-e-Azam’s View On Education

After independence, the government of Pakistan built several universities and educational institutions. The founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah himself, was the biggest supporter and visionary of education. He once said:

“Develop a sound sense of discipline, character, initiative and a solid academic background. You must devote yourself wholeheartedly to your studies, for that is your first obligation to yourselves, your parents and to the State. You must learn to obey for only then you can learn to command”

He spent his life educating the Muslims of India. Quaid-e-Azam built a separate state for us to prosper, built universities to educate the people about the world and religion. Unfortunately, in 2016, Pakistan was ranked amongst the worst regarding university education. Previous and the current government has taken steps to improve the quantity and quality of education. Currently, there are 188 HEC recognized universities in Pakistan. Only one of them, the Quaid-i-Azam University, is among the top 500 worldwide.
