Using The Wireless Mouse
I was really excited when I got my laptop computer, but I hadn’t thought much about actually using it. I wanted something that was portable, and something that would have much more memory than our current computer. I found what I wanted at a great price, but soon found that I wasn’t sure typing on it would be as easy as with the desktop model that we have in our home. My husband was one step ahead of me at checkout, and had a wireless mouse already in the cart. He knows me so well.
If you don’t have a mouse for your laptop, and I can’t think of any that come with them, you have to use the touch pad on the laptop to move your cursor around. For many, that may work just fine. For someone like me who works on their computer all day long, that might become more of a problem. In fact, it can be downright intolerable. That is why I am so glad that my husband thought to get the wireless mouse to put on my computer. Almost any laptop can have one of these, and they work just as well as the ones on any other computer.
What is great about the wireless mouse is that they work with the USB port on your computer. Most computers have these, and many have more than one. On my particular model of laptop, there is a USB port for the mouse up at the top on the right side. That means for those that are right handed, like me, the mouse can be on the right side. A small piece plugs into the USB and then the wireless mouse works with the aid of a battery. If you are left-handed, you will usually find a USB on the left side as well, though it may not be on the top.
You may worry that the wireless mouse will run through batteries rather quickly, but I have found that this is not the case. If you have rechargeable batteries, you will never have a worry. There is a switch you can use on most to turn them off when they are not in use. If you pack your laptop away for a trip, you can turn off the mouse, remove the input device, and pack it away with your laptop rather easily and safely. Even better, the wireless mouse usually runs around twenty dollars in price, and can be found both in stores and online.
