Practically since the dawn of photography, no one has enjoyed slide shows. Oh sure making a photo slide show has always been a fun pastime – we all like to show people where we have gone, what we have done, and how much fun we were having there. Nonetheless, when most people think of slideshows, they think of sitting in a darkened room with their boring aunt and uncle, listening for hours about how lovely the Bahamas are, and looking at picture after picture that look exactly the same. There is no fun in that.
Nonetheless, Sharing photographs has changed a lot since the invention of the computer slideshow. Because online slide shows are so easy to make, they are within the means of anyone with a computer. You don't have to sit in the dark and watch them – you can look at them on your computer at any time. From PowerPoint shows to slide shows for MySpace, the possibilities are practically unlimited.
Ultimately, it is enjoyable to look into someone else's life. It seems to me that the reason why the slideshow was so dreaded in the past was that people were forcibly subjected to it. Watching slide shows in the dark at someone's house is one thing. No one likes to be lectured to endlessly. Being able to look at them on your own time, along with text captions and nice music, is another.
Online slideshows are tremendously popular nowadays, and they are gaining popularity practically every day. Almost everyone I know has a photo bucket account Or a MySpace website to share their photographs with their friends And family. People look at pictures of their favorite bands, their best friends, and even long-lost acquaintances. You can even see slide shows of complete strangers – people you have never met and probably never will meet – all through the power of the Internet.
Still, something is lost through these new slide shows. It is true that creating your own slide shows is easier than ever before. You don't have to have a slide projector, and there is no worry about the slides appearing upside down when you shine the light through them. Besides that, you don't even have to have everyone over to your house to show them the pictures. Still, underneath the irritating babble, there was something nice about those extended family visits. Now that they do not happen in the same way anymore, I almost miss them.
