Simple Will

You may think that you are young, and there is no need for you to have a will. Those without current commitments or children often think that there is simply no need because they have little to leave behind as of yet, and they don’t have to worry about the care of others. Though those things might be true, there are probably some things you may not have considered. These things might lead you to believe that you might need to have a simple will after all.

You may not have a wife, husband, and/or kids, but you have parents. There are always exceptions of course, but most in their twenties have at least one parent that is still alive. While you may not have a significant amount of money to leave them, you may want to leave them what little you have. When you go, if you happen to go before them, they will be responsible for taking care of your final expenses if you have not married or had any children. As parents age, this can be a burden. If you have a simple will saying the needed money goes to them for those reasons, they will be protected.

A simple will can also include things like your car or perhaps your retirement account. If you add much more, it might end up being more of an endeavor to put things together. When you add children and a wife or husband, that is when you might not be able to use something that is quite as simple and easy. If you have written a book, for example, there would always be the question of future royalties, and that might also mean you need a more complex will in place.

What is great about having a simple will is that this is something you can do on your own, as long as you follow the instructions that come with it to the letter. You can have an attorney to help you, though that will cost you more. However, because a simple will can be drawn up rather quickly, especially if you already have a draft of what you need, you may not have to pay for more than an hour of a lawyers time if you can find one that won’t take forever with doing it up. You can find do-it-yourself kits online for a low price, and if you have a very uncomplicated situation, that might be the cheapest way to go.

Summary

Having a simple will created can help so much in the event of a sudden death. Everyone should take the time to write down their wishes and get an attorney to make it legal. If you think right now what would happen if you were suddenly gone, you will already have a good idea of what you need to write down for your will.
