Destin Florida

Destin is a fisherman's paradise and I just love Destin, Florida. I lived in Fort Walton Beach, about six miles north of Destin and I tell you, and the Emerald Coast is really something to see. The sand dunes are not as tall anymore due to hurricanes, the beaches are so white that your really do need to wear shades with really good UV protection. The water is a beautiful blue-green color which makes it very easy to see every swimming sea creature that comes in your path. We use to go down to the pier and just sit and watch the people fish, play volley-ball, have a good time on the beaches.

The cost of living in Destin is pretty steep but your pay is at least two dollars more than what Fort Walton Beach residents income is. Working at Wendy's or Burger King pays at least $8 per hour. This is not a lot but if you worked as a Hooter Girl on the Beach, you could exceed $400 a day in just tips! No joke.

Destin has the famous Bungee Jump, The Big Kahuna, The go-cart tracks, and much, much, more. Tiger Woods comes to Destin and plays gold on our beautiful gold courses. Seafood restaurants are in abundance in Destin and there is also an abundance of is specialty outlet stores. You can shop in comfort because now there is a huge mall that is only about a year old.

If you love to eat fish, you can for free but you have to cook the fish. If you go down to the boat docks in the evening you will see the guys that go deep sea fishing and bring in hundreds of ponds of food. If you are a nightclub kind of person, then Destin had quiet a large number of them... also remember that Destin has the most beautiful Condominiums. Speaking of condo's, if you could purchase on of them it would pay for itself in about two summers.

There is a down side to Destin and Florida alike, and that is the property taxes are outrageous. The weather there is almost always good. There some chill days right now (March) but it is good to be very thankful for the cool days because when it get's hot, it's real HOT. Don't miss out any opportunities to visit Destin because it truly is so beautiful that it's breathtaking.
