Custom Cursors
Up until recently, I always thought of my computer as a place to get work done. I would decorate my office, putting up posters that inspired me to work harder, pictures of people that I loved, and even motivational sayings. My computer, however, with sadly devoid of decoration. There was a scenic picture in the background of the desktop, and that was it. Even that was a recent addition. I wanted everything to look serious and functional, you see. I thought of my desktop as a desktop – a place that should be clear except for essential items. Then I discovered custom cursors.
One of my friends featured custom MySpace cursor is prominently on her page. She was a heavy MySpace user, and had even convinced me to get an account. I only used it now and then at first, but soon I got addicted. I could read about the lives of strangers, keep up with some friends who I hadn't seen in a long time, and download tons of free stuff. That is how I got into custom mouse cursors in the first place. Her custom cursor page was absolutely adorable. It had free custom cursors patterned off many of our favorite TV shows from when we were kids. They were Danger Mouse cursors, Scooby Doo cursors, and many other ones as well. It wasn't long before I downloaded a few.
Once I had the custom cursors up, however, it looked like something was missing. At first, I was thrilled by how much more decorated and quirky my desktop looked. It made my computer feel more like home, you see. I had had good reasons for keeping it pretty barren and austere in the first place, but now I wouldn't go back. Now that I had some custom cursors up, however, instead of looking more complete, it looked less so. What is the point of having Scooby Doo mouse cursors and not having any other Scooby Doo theme desktop stuff? After all, the custom cursors didn't go with the picture of Hawaii on the desktop background, so I had to customize things further. That is why I started downloading custom desktop wallpaper. Soon, I had Scooby Doo sounds as well for my Windows events. It wasn't long before my whole computer was a tribute to this classic show from my childhood. Although it looks less serious, I still get a good bit of work done on my computer.
