Comcast High Speed Internet

I wouldn't use Comcast high speed Internet if I had a choice. On the surface of it, Comcast Internet looks like a pretty swell deal. For the first six months in our area, it was offered at a rate of less than 30 dollars a month – pretty reasonable for the blazing fast speed that they promised. When we got our Comcast high speed Internet service installed, however, the reality was much different. Although it worked when they first plugged it in, it soon started to be plagued by all kinds of errors and faults. The high speed Internet Comcast was extremely unreliable.

The really awful thing about it is that there is no way to predict whether or not the Comcast Internet will work that day. Before I got Comcast high speed Internet, I had DSL service. Although I was not satisfied with it at first, I would give anything to go back to DSL high speed Internet. At least it was reliable. The problem is that it is not offered in our area. Don't get me wrong – when the Comcast high speed Internet works, it works pretty well. Sometimes it really is blazing fast, just not what I needed to be. There is no telling when a system error will make the Comcast high speed Internet to not work for minutes, hours, or even a day at a time. To be fair, it has gotten better in the last few weeks, but there is no guarantee that it will stay that way.

The biggest problem with this is that I need cable high speed Internet to make a living. I make my living on the Internet, you see, and so the reliability of my connection is very important. Although when the Comcast high speed Internet goes down for a couple minutes it isn't a big problem, when it goes down for an hour at a time, it severely cripples my work day. I will get much less done than I would otherwise because I will have to shuffle my work around to cope with the Internet crash.

I don't say this to discourage you from getting Comcast high speed Internet. I have heard that the quality of Comcast Internet service varies greatly from place to place. I have a friend who uses Comcast high speed Internet in Tallahassee, Florida, and has never had any problems with it at all. Still, unless you know that it is good in your area, you might want to stick with DSL Internet service.

Summary

Comcast high speed internet in rural places may not be the best option for you to use, especially if you use the internet frequently and need a reliable connection. Other methods are more secure such as cable modem and dsl. Be sure to ask before using the service in your area.
